Newcastle Pet Taxi is a family owned and operated business run in conjunction with Hunter Pet Motel. As specialists in premium cat and dog boarding for over 20 years, we understand the bond between pets and their owners and strive to strengthen that connection by providing a reliable, caring service.

Our staff are expertly trained and, with their genuine love of animals are passionate about providing the best care in transport and boarding.

Here at Newcastle Pet Taxi our mission is to ensure that every pet's journey is as comfortable and stress-free as their time at home.

Road Transport - Local, Country, and Interstate

All pets travelling by road must be fully Vaccinated to the individual state locations. All pets will travel in airport approved travel crates. Pets from NON- pet families do not share crates. Overnight accommodation is included in the transport price for longer road transport destinations.

Air Transport - Interstate Only

At Newcastle Pet Taxi and Hunter Pet Motel we book all our pets travelling direct with Virgin, offering you a door to door or door to airport service. We do not offer a self-customer lodgement service. At all times your pet will travel in only airline approved transport crates.

Please note that not all breeds are able to fly. Please check below to see if your breed is listed as those who do not meet Australian airline regulations.

Age restrictions apply and all pups between the age of 8-12 weeks must have an Approved Fit to Fly Certificate issued by a Registered Veterinary Surgeon. All pets must be fully vaccinated as per the requirements of the new destination your pet is travelling to – ask your Veterinary Surgeon for more details.

Our staff have extensive experience in the pet transport industry – let us take the worry out of your next relocation.

The following breeds have been identified, in consultation with industry experts, as higher risk/vulnerable Brachycephalic (snub nosed) animals requiring specific welfare considerations. They are therefore unable to fly on aircraft in Australia.

While any dog or cat is susceptible to heat stress, Brachycephalic (snub-nosed / flat-faced) breeds are generally at greater risk of heat stress when compared to dogs and cats with a normal muzzle length. Abnormal brachycephalic anatomy makes it difficult for these animals to adequately thermo-regulate and oxygenate sometimes even under normal conditions.

For this reason, we're unable to accept these breeds for air transport as per airline regulations – this is to ensure the welfare of Brachycephalic animals during transport.

Due to the inherent anatomical features of these animals, additional breeds have been included these include cross breeds with the below animals in these requirements. These breeds include, but are not limited to the following:
